An employee in Chile tendered his resignation and, according to reports, could not be found after his job accidentally paid him about 330 times his salary due to a payroll error.
The worker, a freight forwarder at the meats manufacturer Consorcio Industrial de Alimentos, received a salary of 165,398,851 Chilean pesos, or $180,418, for the month of May. He would only get about 500,000 Chilean pesos, or $545.
The employee initially warned his manager about the massive overpayment, according to local media outlet Diario Financiero.
The manager then reported the problem to the human resources department, who asked the employee to go to his bank and return the extra money.
