Ubisoft shuts down servers with some of its best games

Ubisoft has announced that it will be pulling the plug on servers on September 1 for a variety of games, including some of the best and most popular games to date. Of course, all of these games are “older titles” as Ubisoft puts it, meaning that the shutdown of online services for these games will have much less of an impact compared to the shutdown of servers for the more modern releases like Assassin’s Creed ValhallaFar Cry 6Roller championsor Rider’s Republic

According to Ubisoft, the online services for the games will be closed in order to shift the saved resources to newer and more popular games. What these newer and more popular titles are, we don’t know, as Ubisoft doesn’t specify.

“By closing the online services for some older games, we can focus our resources on delivering great experiences for players playing newer or more popular titles,” Ubisoft said. “To help us do that, some older titles will be added to our list of retired online services on September 1, 2022.”
