Spurs strike deals for Everton’s Richarlison and Barcelona’s Lenglet | Transfer period

Tottenham are on the verge of reaching an agreement to buy Richarlison from Everton. The striker is a prime target for Antonio Conte, who wants to give his attack more depth, and the transfer negotiations are nearing completion.

Everton kept it at around £50 million and was rather cool about Spurs’ attempts to sign players such as Dutch winger Steven Bergwijn in a swap deal. Bergwijn is a target for Ajax.

The signing would be a boost for Conte. Richarlison, who was instrumental in helping Everton stay afloat, is looking to join Spurs and are keen to play in the Champions League. He has also been a target for Chelsea, although they have not made a move for him.

Tottenham are also close to a deal to loan defender Clément Lenglet from Barcelona for a season. The 27-year-old, who has 15 caps for France, started seven La Liga games in the 2021-22 season.

West Ham make progress in conversations with Villarreal on a deal to sign Horace Danjuma. A fee has yet to be agreed or personal terms discussed, but confidence is growing that West Ham will sign the Dutch winger for a fee of around €40 million (£34.5 million) plus add-ons.

David Moyes wants attackers on the offensive and is interested in attracting a versatile striker. Danjuma can play left or center.
