Niskayuna Past Chief dies after 64 years of service

NISKAYUNA, NY (NEWS10) — The Niskayuna Fire Department has announced that former chief Don Miller has passed away. Miller served the community for 64 years and the announcement of his death came on September 10.

Miller joined the ranks in 1958. He was then promoted to the rank of Chief and held the position from 1977 to 1980 and from 1984 to 1985. The former Chief Miller continued his service on the Board of Fire Commissioners and as Deputy fire coordinator for the province of Schenectady . He represented dedication to the community and the highest standard of volunteer firefighters.
