Male pedestrian killed overnight by alleged disabled driver in northwestern Toronto

An adult man died early Saturday morning near Highways 401 and 400 after an alleged traffic accident.

The accident happened at 3:35 a.m. in the Pelmo Park-Humberlea area, near Wilson Avenue West and Clayson Road.

Toronto police said a driver hit a male pedestrian and fled.

The driver, an unnamed 42-year-old man, was spotted a short time later on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died.

There are no other reported injuries at this time, police said.

Roads in the immediate vicinity are under the influence of the investigation.
