Human rights activists win Nobel Peace Prize 2022

The 2022 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to three winners this year.

The winners included imprisoned Belarusian activist Ales Bialiatski, the Russian organization Memorial and the Ukrainian group Center for Civil Liberties.

Commission President Berit Reiss-Andersen used the announcement of the award to call on Belarus to release Mr Bialiatski from prison.

The prizes are officially awarded in Oslo. Norway in December.
