Harper Beckham finds mother Victoria’s Spice Girls miniskirts ‘unacceptable’

It seems that Harper Beckham is the Spice Girls’ strictest critic when it comes to their style.

Victoria and David Beckham’s 10-year-old daughter scolded her mother for wearing “unacceptable” skirts that were “too short” when she was a member of the Spice Girls.

Victoria, 48, recalled how “disgusted” Harper was at the short length of the skirts the Spice Girls used to perform.

Speak with Vogue Australia for the July issue, Victoria said her daughter is “not one of these kids who go out with a full face and a crop top”.

“She said to me recently, ‘Mommy, I saw some pictures of you when you were in the Spice Girls and your skirts were just unacceptable. They were just too short.'”

The fashion designer said Harper’s opinion was supported by David, who said: “Absolutely, Harper! They really were.”

“And she was actually quite disgusted by how short my skirts were,” the mother of four continued. “I said, ‘Would you never wear skirts like that?’ She said, ‘Absolutely not.’ We’ll see.”

Victoria got serious, admitting that she is concerned about how ‘cruel’ social media can be when Harper gets old enough to use it.

Although the 10-year-old currently has no social media accounts, Victoria said: “When you see how cruel people can be, yes, it really is. [concern me]†

“She’s at that age where her body is going to change, but it’s about us communicating a lot as a family and surrounding herself with nice friends.

“But it’s pretty terrifying. I can’t lie.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Victoria criticized Chris Evans for weighing her on TV shortly after the birth of her first child in 1999.

During an appearance on Evans’ Channel 4 series at the time, TFI FridayVictoria was asked if her weight was “back to normal” after giving birth and was told to step on a scale so the host could check for herself.

Victoria recalled the incident and said she’s “lost a lot of weight” after her pregnancies, but “it doesn’t mean you have an eating disorder”.

“And [Evans] made me stand on the scales to be weighed. Can you imagine that nowadays?”

the independent contacted a Chris Evans representative for comment.
