Gaming Laboratories International (GLI®) GLI Africa reaches milestone with 100 employees

The fast-growing team has also led to the physical expansion of GLI’s state-of-the-art lab and office, which opened in Midrand, Johannesburg in 2017. The additional 400 square meters was needed to accommodate all new employees and to increase capacity within the laboratory so that GLI can continue to meet customer expectations.

Devon DalbockGeneral Manager of GLI Africa, said: “GLI was the first gaming test lab to South Africa with only a handful of employees in 1996. Since then we have continued to invest in the South Africa operation, and reaching this important milestone is a real success story for us. Like many places, Johannesburg was hit hard by the pandemic with rising unemployment rates. We are proud of the fact that we have retained all staff during the pandemic and that we have been able to create new jobs for so many talented people to work on projects, not just in Africa but in jurisdictions around the world.”

“It’s also great news for our customers in Africa that they have access to local experts who understand the complexities and challenges of the market here, but also have a global team working with them that can provide insights and expertise about markets in EuropeLatin AmericaAsiaAustraliaand the United States

When Kailin Hanko joined GLI Africa as a math analyst, she had no idea she would become an important part of GLI Africa’s history by the 100e collaborator. Kailin joined the team and worked part-time as a math teacher in underprivileged schools in Johannesburgwith the aim of inspiring young people.

She explains why she decided to join GLI: “When I first heard about GLI, I was struck by how much the company is committed to work ethic and their global commitment to giving back to communities. I was also excited. to see how I can integrate the skills and experience I gained as a graduate with the vision of GLI What I love most about my job is the fact that every day is different and an opportunity to learn and grow , not to mention the great office environment. Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming, and I am happy to be part of the GLI family.”
