A community in West Belfast stopped popular sports day activities like the three-legged race and did something much more creative: a dumpster contest!
e Féile an Phobail, Ireland’s largest community festival, held a trash can race that saw six racers (and their bins) race to the finish.
As they ran through the neighborhood of Springhill, the racers had an additional obstacle as spectators threw water and flour at them.
The race was part of Springhill’s Féile Fun Day which took place yesterday.
Other free community activities included football, bingo, a movie night and bouncy castles.
The party celebrated Springhill’s Community House, which has provided education and health services for 50 years.
