Barcelona defeated Villarreal 3-0 in the tenth round of the Spanish football league.

Barcelona increased its score to 25 points in second place, three points behind the leaders and their traditional rivals, Real Madrid, who are at the front.

On the other hand, Villarreal’s balance froze at 15 points, in ninth place.

Barcelona advanced in the 30th minute via Robert Lewandowski, before the same player scored the second goal in the 34th minute.

In the 38th minute, Ansu Fati scored the third goal for Barcelona.

The first fifteen minutes passed with timid attempts by the two teams, as they posed no threat to the goal of German goalkeeper Mark Ander Ter Stegen, Barcelona goalkeeper, or Villarreal goalkeeper Jernimo Rulli.

In the 19th minute, Barcelona’s Ansu Fati headed a header towards Villarreal’s goal, but it went over the crossbar of keeper Roli.

Barcelona managed to score the first goal in the 30th minute, via Pole Robert Lewandowski, who received a cross from Jordi Alba, received the ball with a wonderful dribble from two Villarreal defenders and then shot the ball into the net.

Four minutes later, Lewandowski scored the second goal for Barcelona, after receiving the ball from the left on the border of the Villarreal penalty area, to dodge the Villarreal defender and hit a beautiful ball past Roli again.

In the 38th minute, Ansu Fati scored the third goal for Barcelona, after a cross from Ferran Torres to put it in the net with the butt of the foot against Roli.

The rest of the first half minute produced nothing new, so the referee whistled at the end and Barcelona took the lead by three.

At the start of the second half, Barcelona continued the pressure and tried to add a fourth goal, but bad luck and the poor finishing of the attacks prevented that.

With the passage of time and Barcelona’s continued superiority in the result and Villarreal falling back to not receive any other goals in his net, Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez resorted to some changes to give the players a rest, especially as it team has one more game in the league championship next Sunday, for its guest Athletic Bilbao.

Frenchman Ousmane Dembele took the place of Lewandowski, while Brazilian Rafinha had the chance to compete in place of Ansu Fati, while Hector Bellerin, returning from injury, replaced Sergi Roberto, and veteran duo Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets took the place of Jules Conde and Frenkie de Jong respectively.

On the other hand, Villarreal coach Unai Emery tried to make some changes to his team’s game plan in the hopes that he would succeed in returning to the game, but that did not happen and his efforts failed in the net of Ter Stegen to shake.

There was nothing new for the rest of the match minutes, so the referee blew the final whistle and Barcelona won 3-0.
